INTRODUCTION

Skilled Electrical Wireman is highly in demand in the construction, industrial and electricity generation industry. This basic course will enable participants to embark on a career as an electrical wireman.

Participants can continue their career by later taking up course as Electrical Wireman - Level 2 as well as Single Phase and Three Phase electrician course in the future.

4. Layout, Symbols and Basic Electrical Drawing

5. Understanding and Using Tools and Accessories

6. Single Phase Electrical Components
a.    Single phase switch gear
b.    ELCB - Earth Linkage Circuit Breaker
c.    MCB, power point, 13 amp, 15 amp and other components

7. Practical Application of Wiring Techniques
a.    Types and usage of cables
b.    Electrical trunking, ducting and tray
c.    Practical techniques of wiring using trunking, ducting, pvc pipe etc.
8. Practical Application of Completed Functional Wiring for Mock-up Three Rooms House
a.    Actual installation of wiring
b.    Inspection and testing procedures
c.    Safety in handling electrical wiring for house

9. Practical Working Techniques for Safe Electrical Wiring Operation


DURATION

15 weeks - 2 times a week - 3 hours for every session (Total = 90 hours) or weekend (6 hours per session during weekends ). Total = 90 hours.
 

METHODOLOGY

•    Practical and hands on skills = 80%, Theory/lecture = 20%
•    Assessment by assignment, projects and portfolio


ADVANCE COURSE

Those who completed Level 1 course, can proceed to Level 2 as well as Single Phase and Three Phase Electrician Course. They also can take City & Guilds of London courses to become qualified electrical technician at diploma level.
