INTRODUCTION
Skilled air-conditioning repair and service technician is in great demand in all sectors. This in inclusive of the industrial, building & household sectors. This basic course will enable participants to embark career as air-conditioning repair and service technician.
Participants can continue their career later by taking up course Air-Cond Repair and Servicing – Level 2 course in the future.

MODULES
1. Understanding basic electrical regulation
2. Safety practice and measure
3. Introduction to electrical theory and concepts
a. AC & DC current
b. Voltage, ampere (current) and resistance
c. Single phase current concept
d. Three phase current concept
4. Layout, symbols and basic electrical drawing
5. Understanding and using tools and accessories
6. Understanding basic components of basic air-conditioning system
7. Air-conditioning basic diagram
8. Practical application of air-conditioning service and repair for window unit and single phase split unit.
a. Identification of major components in air-cond
b. Safety in handling air-conditioning system
c. Simple cleaning and servicing of air-conditioning system
d. Inspection & testing procedure of air-cond
e. Checking for gas leakage
f. Gas top-up techniques
g. Other practical hands-on techniques on repair and servicing of air-cond
DURATION
15 weeks - 2 times a week - 3 hours for every session (Total = 90 hours) or weekend (6 hours per session during weekends ). Total = 90 hours.
METHODOLOGY
• Practical and hands on skills = 80%, Theory/lecture = 20%
• Assessment by assignment, projects and portfolio
ADVANCE COURSE
Graduate of PQC, Air-Conditioning Repair and Servicing can continue at to Level 2 later. They also can take City & Guilds of London courses to become qualified Air Conditioning Repair and Servicing Technician at Diploma level.
